Large modpacks or heavy plugins can require more RAM.

Suggested Allocation

4 - 5 GB

Start at the lower number and increase if you see lag or memory warnings.

Starter Flags

-Xms4G -Xmx4G

Allocate the same value to -Xms and -Xmx for stable GC behavior.

Leave at least 2GB RAM for the operating system and other services.

How to Use the Recommendation

The calculator gives a starting range. Allocate the lower number first, monitor TPS and memory usage, and increase only if you see spikes or warnings.

Start Small

Allocating more RAM than your server needs can cause longer garbage collection pauses. Start low and increase gradually.

Extra Tips

  • Use the same value for -Xms and -Xmx
  • Leave 2GB RAM for the operating system
  • Pre-generate your world to reduce chunk generation lag
